Search for an address, an account, or a contact...

Principle

Search around searches for an address, an account, a contact, a lead, or your own map position, and display the results in a map.  

Utilisation

> Opti-Time tab > Search an address

The Search an address tab proposes to search for several types of data in the map.

Search an address

The Search an address section in the Opti-Time tab performs a search for an address in the map.

1.   Choose Address in the drop-down list

2.   Fill in the Street, Postal code, City fields, and where applicable State/Province and Country, and then click on Search:

3.   If there is an exact match with the address entered, a click on the Search button opens an infobox for validation of the address entered, with reference to an address directory or database:

4.   If the entry contains a typing error, or if the address match is not perfect, click on Search to roll out a list of suggestions. Click on one of the suggestions to validate the choice of a correspondence:

5.   Once you choose a suggestion, the map centres on the chosen address:

Search for an account

Use Search for an account section in the Opti-Time tab to search for an account in the map on the account name.  

Searching for an account is only possible if the accounts have been geocoded beforehand. Refer to the Help sections explaining how to geocode accounts individually or in batches in Opti-Time for Salesforce.

1.   Choose Account in the drop-down list

2.   Next, enter the name or an extract from the account name, a list of suggestions then shows all the accounts with names containing the string entered. Click on one of the suggestions to validate the choice of the account sought:

Search for a contact

The section called Search for a contact in the Opti-Time tab searches for a contact in the map by name.  

 Searching for a contact is only possible if the contacts have been geocoded beforehand. Refer to the help sections explaining how to geocode addresses or contacts individually or in batches in Opti-Time for Salesforce.

1.   Choose Contact in the drop-down list

2.   Next, enter the name or an extract of the contact name you want to find, and a list of suggestions then displays showing all contact names containing the string entered. Click on one of the suggestions to validate the choice of the account sought:

Search for a lead

The section called Search for a lead in the Opti-Time tab allows you to perform a search for a lead in the map based on its name.

 Searching for a lead is only possible if the leads have been geocoded beforehand. Refer to the sections in Opti-Time Help explaining how to geocode addresses or leads individually or in batch mode in Opti-Time for Salesforce.

1.   Choose Lead in the drop-down list

2.   Next, enter the name or an extract from the name of the lead, and a list of suggestions will then display all the leads with names containing the string entered. Click on one of the suggestions to validate the choice of the lead sought:

Searching for my position

The section called Search for my position in the Opti-Time tab performs a search for my position in the map, as calculated from a localisation source retrieved via the browser.

Searching for My position is only possible if a geo-positioning network can be accessed via the browser (GPS, WiFi, 3G, 4G...).

1.   Choose My position in the drop-down list:

2.   A popup window in the browser then displays, requesting authorisation to retrieve the current position. Click on the choice that allows you to authorise the localisation (the interface varies according to which browser is being used, here the button is Allow):

3.   The map then centres on the known position in the browser:

Using the map

This interactive map makes it very easy to:

  • Zoom-in or zoom-out using the mouse wheel, or pan the map by clicking-and-dragging in the map;
  • Using the Layers icon at the bottom right of the map:

    • Display your preferred map background (Map, SatelliteTerrain)
    • Display current Road traffic conditions (Traffic conditions)
    • Display the public transport network (Public transport)
    • Display any traffic incidents (Display traffic incidents)

     

     

One click on the map marker displays an infobox. From this infobox, it will be possible to See on Street View the corresponding address.
